A message from your President

All Aboard…

Welcome to the World Wide Web home of the Virginia JCI Senate and … “All Aboard!”  My name is Rod Williams and I have the honor of serving as the President of the Virginia JCI Senate for the 2010-2011 year.  “All Aboard!” is our theme for this year and I am looking forward to as many Senators as possible joining us for our journey this year.

If you have found our website and are not familiar with the Jaycees or the Senate, the Jaycees are a world wide organization of young people ages 18 through 40.  The Senate itself is also a world wide organization, comprised of those current and former Jaycees who have made outstanding contributions to the Jaycees.  One of the Senate’s missions is to help advance the Jaycee movement by offering guidance and assistance to Jaycee organizations and their members.

We have an exciting year planned for the Virginia JCI Senate.  Our next upcoming event is our annual summer outing and business meeting.  We will be gathering on July 17 at the Holiday Inn Golf & Conference Center in Staunton and, from there, heading off to the Daylily & Wine Festival at the Andre Viette Farm & Nursery in Fishersville.  More information on the event is available by going back to our home page and following the link from there.  I hope to see many Senators at the summer outing.

Looking toward August, in Virginia, we have the Virginia Jaycees summer meeting at Camp Virginia Jaycee in Blue Ridge the weekend of August 20.  We also like to visit our Senate brethren in other states and, on August 28, a good number of us (and many more, I hope) will head off to Westminster, Maryland for the Maryland JCI Senate’s 9th Annual Crab Feed.

Well, we have our train now chugging along to start our year.  We’ll be stopping at a number of different places along the way, so the “All Aboard!” will be sounded many times, for everyone to join us for friendship, fellowship, and fun.
