A Message from Our President

Aloha VA JCI Senators,

As I step into the role of State President, I find myself reflecting deeply on the concept of 'Ohana Koho'—the chosen family that uplifts and supports us through life's journeys. For me, this journey has been one of growth, challenge, and unwavering support from my Senate Family, without whom I would not be where I am today.

In Hawaiian culture, 'Ohana' means family, encompassing not only blood relatives but also those who are brought together by a common bond of love, respect, and shared values. 'Koho' adds a layer of choice and intentionality, emphasizing the act of selecting or electing individuals to be part of one's extended family. This concept beautifully encapsulates how we can build meaningful connections beyond biological ties, forming a network of support that transcends traditional boundaries.

Throughout my Jaycee career, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by a diverse and inspiring Ohana Koho. They have been my mentors, my sounding boards, and my cheerleaders. Their guidance has shaped my leadership style, their encouragement has bolstered my confidence, and your belief in me has fueled my ambition to serve our organization to the best of my abilities.

As I prepare to take on the role of State President, I carry with me the lessons and values instilled by my past experience with multiple Senate organizations. Their diverse perspectives and support have prepared me for the challenges ahead and have strengthened my commitment to advocating for our shared goals and values.

I am excited to embark on this new adventure alongside my Ohana Koho. Together, we will work to make this the best year ever.

Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility. I am humbled and honored to serve as your State President and look forward to the journey ahead with optimism, determination, and the unwavering support of my Ohana Koho.

With gratitude,

Tom Cramer
2024-2025 VA JCI State President
