A Message from Our President
Welcome to the Year of the Starfish—"Reach for the Stars—Together."'
This year, our theme serves as a reminder that each of us brings something unique to the Virginia JCI Senate. Like the arms of a starfish, every member contributes their own talents, experiences, and perspective. While each arm is important on its own, it is only when they come together that the full star is formed. In the same way, our organization is strongest when we support one another, build connections, and work together toward common goals.
Our motto, "Start with One. Grow as Many," reflects the power of simple acts of friendship and inclusion. Every new relationship begins with one conversation, one invitation, or one shared experience. As those connections grow, so does our fellowship, our sense of community, and our impact.
The starfish also symbolizes renewal and growth. Just as a starfish can regenerate an arm, we continually have opportunities for fresh starts, new friendships, and new ways to serve. Whether you are a longtime Senator or newly joined to our family, there is always room to learn, contribute, and grow.
Throughout the year, I encourage each of us to embrace the spirit of the shoreline—a place that is welcoming, relaxed, and open to all. Our meetings, events, and gatherings should be places where friendships flourish, laughter is shared, and everyone feels valued. Together, we can create an environment where every member feels connected and appreciated.
Most importantly, remember that every starfish belongs. Every member matters. Every contribution has value. By supporting one another through life's celebrations, challenges, and everyday moments, we strengthen the bonds that make our Senate family so special.
